Hannah Brocke (PhD) has a diverse work experience that spans over two decades. In 2001, they gained environmental experience during their gap year at the Seal Station and National Park Centre Wadden Sea. From 2010 to 2018, they worked as a Scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology. In 2013, Hannah started a side project focused on exploring business solutions that combine environmental protection with economic potential. As part of this project, they worked globally, collaborating with local people from different cultures. In 2017, they co-founded PlanBlue and assumed the role of Co-founder & CSO. Hannah continues to contribute their expertise and passion for sustainable development through their various roles.
Hannah Brocke (PhD) has a comprehensive education history in the field of natural sciences. Hannah started their education journey in 2002 at the Universität Greifswald, where they obtained their Vordiplom in Biologie/biologische Wissenschaften, allgemein. Hannah then continued their studies at Universität Rostock, from 2005 to 2009, and completed their Diplom Biologe (Equivalent MSc) in the fields of marine biology, physiology, biochemistry, and physical oceanography.
In 2008, Hannah pursued further academic exposure and attended The University of Queensland, where they completed their Diplomarbeit, equivalent to an MSc thesis, in toxicology, exposure, and risk assessment.
Hannah's quest for knowledge led their to the University of Bremen, where they began their doctoral studies in 2010. Hannah successfully completed their Doktor (Ph.D.) in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in 2015. During this time, they also engaged with the Bremen International Graduate School for Marine Sciences - Marum, although no specific degree or field of study is provided for this engagement.
