Nathan achieved industry recognition for Planning Alternatives by winning the Schwab Trailblazer award. He is a featured panelist at industry conferences and has been a contributing member on the advisory board of Charles Schwab and Envestnet Tamarac.
Nathan is a member of NAPFA (National Association of Personal Financial Advisors), a community of fiduciary, fee-only advisors that offer holistic, objective financial advice. He has contributed to media publications including USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, and Michigan Medicine and regularly offers financial planning insight on NBC'S WDIV.TV. He is a member of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO), a premier peer network of chief executive officers and business leaders. Nathan sits on the board of the YPO Global One chapter and serves as chapter Forum Officer for over 380 executives worldwide.
Nathan serves on the board of Variety, a non-profit organization devoted to supporting children in need. He also actively supports the Alzheimer's Association of Michigan. Nathan hosts the Day In A Canoe podcast, where he interviews successful business leaders.
Nathan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Administrative and Commercial Studies from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Windsor.
