Joseph Italiano has a long history of work experience in the medical field. In 2014, they co-founded Platelet BioGenesis, a company developing technology to produce donor-independent human platelets from human induced pluripotent stem cells. Prior to this, they held the role of Associate Professor of Medicine at Boston Children's Hospital since 2007, Harvard University since 1998, and Brigham and Women's Hospital since 1998.
Joseph Italiano attended The College of New Jersey from 1988 to 1992, where they studied Biology, General. Joseph then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cell Biology at Florida State University, which they completed in 1997.
