Kelly MacDonald

Kelly MacDonald has extensive experience in the insurance and risk management industry. Kelly currently holds the position of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at PLATFORM Insurance Management Inc. In this role, they focus on providing bespoke advice and solutions to help clients identify, quantify, manage, and transfer their risk exposure.

Kelly has also served as a Board Member at RMA Toronto and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto.

Prior to their current position, Kelly worked at Aon in various roles, including Enterprise Client Leader, Senior Vice President, Regional Sales Director, and Vice President. Kelly specialized in risk management and insurance services for Financial Institutions, Group, Public Sector, and Institutional clients.

Kelly has also worked at Baird MacGregor Insurance Brokers LP as the Vice President, National Practice Leader - Financial & Professional Services, and at HKMB Hub International as an Account Manager.

Throughout their career, Kelly has demonstrated expertise in risk management, insurance services, and leadership.

Kelly MacDonald (she/her) has a diverse education history. Kelly started their education journey at the Ivey Business School at Western University, where they completed the Ivey Sales Management Program. Kelly then attended Western University from 1994 to 1997, although the degree name and field of study are unspecified. Kelly went on to pursue risk management at the Global Risk Management Institute from 2001 to 2003, obtaining a CRM degree. Kelly further expanded their knowledge in the insurance industry at the Insurance Institute of Canada from 2003 to 2006, earning an FCIP degree in management. Finally, Kelly enrolled at PLUS from 2005 to 2007, specializing in Professional Liability Underwriting with an RPLU degree. In addition to their formal education, they obtained certifications such as CEO Excellence and Purposeful Curiosity through LinkedIn, as well as completing the Ivey Sales Management Program at the Ivey Academy - Executive Education - Ivey Business School in 2018.
