Engineering Mentor at Plato

Javier Voos has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and industries. Javier began their career in 2000 as a Technical Lead at Grupo Prominente, where they focused on application design and implementation using J2EE technologies. Javier then moved on to IBM in 2004, working as a Focal Point for WebSphere Support and providing consulting services in Latin America for SOA, J2EE application development, and web services.

In 2006, Voos joined Intel Corporation as a Product Manager, where they were responsible for defining project scope and features and driving INTEL platform adoption for enterprise clients. Javier also played a key role in defining open standards related to security and manageability for web services.

Voos transitioned to Hewlett Packard Enterprise in 2007, taking on the role of Technical Lead. Javier created software architectures for new projects and enhancements and organized teams for effective execution. Javier also developed knowledge transfer and migration plans.

In 2010, Voos joined IBM Argentina as a Lead Architect, making architecture decisions across application domains and organizing architecture and development teams. Javier also selected Java frameworks and delivered reusable assets for other IBM projects. Four years later, they joined Ayi & Asociados as a Lead Architect, focusing on enterprise mobility and helping clients define their mobile architecture and delivery approach.

From 2013 to 2016, Javier Voos worked at Mercadolibre.com as a Project Lead, leading cross-functional teams in product and technology development. Javier managed IT projects from start to finish and provided guidance on solution architecture and design using cloud microservices.

Voos then worked as an Enterprise Architect at Naranja X from 2017 to 2019, leading the digital architectural transformation and ensuring solutions aligned with the delivered architecture. Javier later became the Head of Engineering at Naranja X, where they created and scaled the engineering team and established a culture of delivery excellence.

In 2021, Voos took on the role of Engineering Mentor at Plato, where they provide guidance and support to engineering professionals. Javier also continues to work as a Research Software Engineer at UTN - Facultad Regional Córdoba, where they lead the Health IT research line and manages telemedicine projects.

Throughout their career, Javier Voos has demonstrated expertise in architecture, project management, team leadership, and technological innovation.

Javier Voos attended the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional from 1993 to 1999, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in IT Engineering with a focus on Information Technology. In addition to their formal education, Javier has obtained several certifications throughout their career. Javier became an IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment V8.0 in July 2016. In August 2006, they earned the SUN Certified Enterprise Architect for J2EE Technologies certification from Sun Microsystems. Furthermore, in April 2006, they obtained the IBM Certified Solution Designer – Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) certification. Prior to that, they achieved the IBM Certified Advanced System Administrator -- WebSphere App Server V5.0 certification in October 2005 and the IBM Certified System Administrator -- WebSphere Application Server V5.0 certification in April 2004. Lastly, they completed the Application Development with IBM WebSphere Studio, V5.0 certification in February 2004.
