Melissa Walega

Melissa Walega has a diverse work experience in the field of Human Resources. Melissa is currently working as a Sr. HR Field Partner at Plug Power, a position they started in June 2022. Earlier in their career, Melissa gained experience at Security Industry Specialists, Inc. Melissa worked as a Corporate Recruiter from February 2016 to October 2016. Prior to that, they served as an Internal Services Coordinator from April 2014 to February 2016, and as a Human Resources Clerk from September 2013 to April 2014. Melissa began their career at Security Industry Specialists, Inc. as a Receptionist from September 2012 to September 2013, where they provided administrative support and managed various tasks.

Melissa Walega completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science and Government from John Jay College (CUNY) in the years 2009-2013. Later, they pursued a Master of Human Resource Development degree from Villanova University, from 2019 to 2021. Melissa also holds multiple certifications, including the Notary Public Commission from the New York State Secretary of State in 2013, 2017, and 2021. In addition, they obtained the SHRM - Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification from SHRM in January 2021. Melissa is also certified in HeartSaver CPR AED, acquired from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association, although the specific dates of acquisition are unavailable.
