Dr. Emma Jefferies

Dr. Emma Jefferies has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of design strategy and research. Dr. Emma is currently working as a Senior Design Strategist and Researcher at Point B, Inc., where they focus on customer engagement, growth investments, and operations excellence. Previously, they served as a Lead Design Researcher and Organisational Consultant at DesignThinkers Group, USA, where they helped organizations transition to a more service-oriented and human-centered approach. Dr. Jefferies also founded and served as the Director of THE TRAVELLING SCHOOL OF CURIOSITY LIMITED, creating services to encourage curiosity in children. Prior to that, they worked as an Organizational Consultant and Senior User Researcher at HM Revenue & Customs, leading workshops and conducting user research to improve digital services. Dr. Emma has also held positions such as Student Project Supervisor at Hyper Island, Organizational Development Consultant at The Design Doctors, Senior User Researcher Consultant at EY-Seren, and Senior Contract Consultant at Seren Design Ltd. Additionally, they have experience as a Design Manager at Pure Insight and as a Brand Strategist and Creative Consultant at Idiom Design and Consulting. Throughout their career, Dr. Jefferies has worked with various organizations globally, contributing to the development of innovative solutions and promoting user-centered design practices.

Dr. Emma Jefferies has an extensive education history. Dr. Emma pursued their Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Design with First Class with Honours from the School of Design at Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne, from 2000 to 2003. Dr. Emma then proceeded to earn their Ph.D. in Design from the same university's School of Design, completing their doctoral studies between 2003 and 2010.

In addition to their academic degrees, Dr. Jefferies has also obtained several certifications to enhance their professional skill set. In 2018, they achieved the Voice Print Practitioner certification from VoicePrint. More recently, in 2022, they obtained three certifications, namely Design Strategy and Designing a Business from IDEO U, and the Practitioner Certification Program from LUMA Institute. These certifications demonstrate Dr. Jefferies' commitment to continuous professional development and staying current in the field of design.
