David Elvin has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. David is currently the Chief Medical Officer at Point32Health since October 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Cambridge Health Alliance for several roles, including Vice President of Population Health Management, Physician specializing in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, Interim Senior Vice President of Accountable Care, and Senior Medical Director of Accountable Care Organization. David also served as the President of Medical Staff and Primary Care Medical Director during their time at the organization. Additionally, they have worked as a Clinical Consultant at Thrive Earlier Detection Corp. and as a Clinical Instructor at Harvard Medical School.

David Elvin completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Molecular Biology at UC San Diego from 1990 to 1994. David then attended The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) from 1994 to 1998, where they obtained their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in Medicine. Following this, they enrolled in the Pediatrics Residency Program and the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Baylor College of Medicine from 1998 to 2002.
