Brian Gove has extensive work experience in various roles related to environmental and emergency management. Brian has worked as an Operations Supervisor at Port Everglades since 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Shipboard Environmental Officer at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. in 2022, where they managed waste operations and planned environmental voyages. From 2021 to 2022, Brian worked as an Environmental Compliance Manager at Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc., leading the implementation of environmental programs for a fleet of cargo ships. Brian also worked as an Emergency Management Coordinator at the Seminole Tribe of Florida in 2021. In 2020, they served as an Environmental Specialist II at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, responding to hazardous incidents and monitoring contractor responses. Prior to that, Brian held various roles at Oil Spill Response Ltd, including Base Manager/Director and Regional HSEQ Advisor. Brian was responsible for managing personnel and budget as well as engaging in business development activities. Brian also worked as an HSES Manager/Technical Advisor at Clean Caribbean & Americas in 2012 and as a Safety Management System & Compliance Superintendent at Carnival Cruise Lines from 2011 to 2012. Brian started their career in 1988 at the U.S. Coast Guard, where they held roles in waterways management and as a Commander, overseeing port security and safety compliance.

Brian Gove attended the Massachusetts Maritime Academy from 1982 to 1986, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Marine Transportation. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained STCW Basic Survival Training from Seven Seas Preparatory Academy in October 2021. In August 2019, they completed OPITO Basic Hydrogen Sulphide Training at Falck Safety Services (NL), and in April 2016, they completed OPITO Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (includes HUET and EBS) at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. In September 2009, they acquired the Vessel/Company/Facility Security Officer certification from MARSEC. Brian also holds certifications in HAZWOPER 40 hour from the U.S. Coast Guard, Hazardous Materials Transportation from the U.S. Department of Transportation, and ICS 100, 200, 300, 700, and 800 from FEMA. Brian has additional certifications in ICS 320 and ICS 430/440 from EMSI, as well as ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, and ISO 9001 Lead Auditor - Quality Certification from Exemplar Global, Inc. Furthermore, Brian has completed OSHA 30 training from the OSHA Safety Training Institute, OSHA 7505 Accident Investigation Course from the University of South Florida OSHA Training Institute Education Center, and OSHAS 18001 Lead Auditor certification from Exemplar Global, Inc. Lastly, they are a USCG Licensed Third Mate Oceans Unlimited, obtained from the U.S. Coast Guard.
