John Isbell

John Isbell is an experienced professional with a strong background in training and development. John worked as the VP of New Restaurant Operations at Portillo's, where they were responsible for the development and direction of the NRO teams and ensuring the delivery of memorable dining experiences. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President of Learning & Development at Portillo's and as a Director of Learning & Development at Logan's Roadhouse. John also held leadership positions at O'Charley's and The Improv Comedy Club & Dinner Theatre, where they oversaw operations and training. Additionally, John has experience as a consultant, writer, and speaker in the hospitality industry. Their extensive experience and expertise make him a valuable asset in training and development roles.

John Isbell, SHRM-SCP, CHT has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Workcenter Education & Development from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, which they obtained from 1994 to 2005. Prior to that, they earned an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Educational/Instructional Technology from the Community College of the Air Force from 1992 to 1994. Their high school education was completed at Bellbrook High School from 1984 to 1988. In addition to their formal education, they hold certifications in "Having Powerful, Advanced Conversations" from LinkedIn and is a SHRM - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) from SHRM, both obtained in recent years.
