Norm Filiol has a diverse work experience in the field of IC design and engineering. Norm started their career as a Summer Student at Transport Canada, where they were responsible for maintenance and design modifications on RF navigational aids. Norm then worked as a Student Researcher at Nortel Semiconductor, followed by a role as a Senior Staff Design Engineer at Conexant, where they were recognized as an expert in fractional-N frequency synthesis.

Norm went on to work at Kaben Wireless Silicon Inc., where they held several roles including Chief Architect and VP Engineering, Co-Founder. In these positions, they were responsible for developing R&D plans, working with the marketing team to support new business development, and designing mixed-signal ICs for wireless applications.

Norm also worked part-time as a Researcher at the University of Oulu, where they presented lectures, assisted graduate students, and taught a graduate course on advanced frequency synthesizer architectures.

Additionally, Norm served as an Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University, where they initiated research into integrated radio transmitters and secured grants to fund the research.

Norm's work experience also includes a role as a Technical Advisor at Intelligent Photonics Control Inc., and as a Senior IC Design Engineer at Power Integrations.

Throughout their career, Norm has demonstrated expertise in IC design, mixed-signal design, system architecture, and RF technology. Norm has a strong background in frequency synthesis and has contributed to the development of various wireless applications and technologies.

Norm Filiol's education history begins in 1988 when they enrolled at Carleton University to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Norm successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 1992. Following this, Norm continued their education at Carleton University and obtained a Master's degree in Electronics Engineering from 1992 to 1994. Norm furthered their academic journey by pursuing a Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering at Carleton University from 1995 to 1999. In 2003, Norm enrolled at the Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology for the Certified Financial Planner Program, which they completed in 2004.
