Andy Smith

Andy Smith is the current Director at Powerscourt. Andy has over 19 years of experience in communications and media relations. Prior to their current position, they were the Head of Media Relations & Employee Communications for Santander UK plc from January 2009 to January 2019. There, they were responsible for all aspects of Santander UK plc's media relations, including corporate communications, employee communications, and comms to retail networks. Andy also oversaw the company's intranet, staff social media, and e-zine.

Before their time at Santander, Andy was an Associate Director at Lansons Communications from January 2004 to December 2008. Andy was also an Account Director at Polhill Communications from January 2001 to December 2004. Their first Senior Media Relations Manager position was at Virgin Money from February 2000 to February 2001, where they were responsible for the promotion of the Virgin One Account. Andy began their career in 1995 as a PR Manager at Unum, where they worked for five years.

Andy Smith completed a Bachelor of Science Honours in Physical Geomorphology and Geology at the University of Liverpool.
