Vahed Qazvinian

Vahed Qazvinian has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Vahed is currently the Co-Founder of Praisidio, Inc. since July 2019. Prior to that, they worked as a Co-Founder at Lawyaw from June 2016 to August 2021. Vahed'srole at Lawyaw was during the Y Combinator Winter 2018 batch.

Before their entrepreneurial ventures, Vahed worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Google from October 2012 to May 2016. Vahed was part of the Search Quality team and was responsible for developing machine learning algorithms to enhance the precision and recall of Google Answer types in both English and international queries. Vahed also developed an end-to-end platform for automated query-model training, improving the launch velocity of new Google Answer types.

Vahed's earlier experience includes working as a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan from September 2007 to August 2012. Vahed'sresearch focused on Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning, particularly studying semantics in online social media. Vahed also served as a Graduate Student Instructor for a semester, teaching relevant courses.

In addition, Vahed worked as a Research Intern at Microsoft Research during the summers of 2011 and 2010. In 2011, they focused on developing machine learning algorithms for text similarity. One of their projects resulted in a patent titled "User query reformulation using random walks". In 2010, they worked on Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing algorithms to improve query reformulation and achieved significant gains in NDCG (Normalized Discounted Cumulative Gain).

Vahed's work experience also includes a summer research internship at PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2008, where they gained exposure to research in an industry setting. Overall, Vahed's work experience highlights their expertise in machine learning, natural language processing, and their entrepreneurial spirit.

Vahed Qazvinian's education history shows that they obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan between 2009 and 2012. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the same university from 2007 to 2009. Vahed'sundergraduate studies were completed at Sharif University of Technology from 2003 to 2007, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering with a specialization in Software.
