Doug Dean has a extensive work history with various roles and positions. Doug co-founded Predictably Human in 2020, where they focus on product engineering and development. Prior to that, they worked as a client driver at octane126 - Official Ferrari and Maserati Service starting in 2018. From 2014 to 2020, Doug served as an independent senior business advisor at Setanta AG. Doug also worked at Philip Morris International from 2006 to 2014, holding positions such as strategic advisor and senior vice president of R&D. Before that, they worked at IBM as the Vice President of the Global Pharma Practice from 2002 to 2006. Doug's career started in 1994 at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where they were a senior partner in the Global Pharma Practice and played a key role in improving regulatory compliance. Doug has also held positions at Digital Equipment Corporation, Rockwell, Unitek Technologies Corporation, and the Shaughnessey Hospital Medical Engineering Research Unit.

Doug Dean completed their high school education at Kelowna Secondary School, earning a High School Diploma (Honours) between 1968 and 1972. Following this, they attended The University of British Columbia from 1972 to 1978, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Engineering Physics (1st Class). Continuing their education at the same institution, Doug pursued a PhD in Electrical Engineering / Biomedical Engineering from 1979 to 1985, ultimately earning their doctorate.
