JOB SUMMARY:

The Turf / Plant Health Care Applicator position’s primary responsibilities will be the overall management of lawn/turf services and plant/tree health care. Responsibilities will include development and implementation of the turf and plant health care program with up-to-date certifications/licenses for proper turf application of fertilizers, insecticides, fungicides, etc.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (Including but not limited to):

  • Provide quality lawn care services to our inventory
  • Apply fertilizer, herbicide, insecticide and fungicide to commercial and residential turf, shrubs, trees and annuals/perennials
  • Effectively route work orders and complete work efficiently
  • Perform daily truck inspections and report any issues
  • Load and mix all products correctly as needed for applications
  • Calibrate spreaders and sprayers to apply at correct rates
  • Assist with maintenance of yard inventory of plants, trees and shrubs with Yard Manager
  • Inspect properties when on site for future issues related to pests or disease and relay findings to manager
  • Hold proper licenses/certifications necessary to meet State regulations for turf application
  • Maintain a record of chemical applications
  • Use company issued phone to record completed daily tasks, communicate with management, document issues and use any apps that are necessary for DOA and DOT compliancy

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Up to date licenses/certifications for turf application and Plant Health Care

  • Class C, CDL license

  • Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities to work in a fast-paced team environment

  • Ability to conduct business in a professional manner at all times to best represent the Organization

  • Technological knowledge base to utilize necessary systems and process in the most efficient manner

  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to communicate in a professional manner with all members of the organization

  • Horticultural knowledge and understanding of landscape management and PHC

  • Experience with lawn care, horticultural services and general maintenance practices

  • Organization and time management skills

  • Solid written communication skills to prepare accurate and appropriate documents

  • Ability to accept additional responsibilities as assigned and adjust smoothly to changes in responsibilities as needed
