Travis Lewis, MD, PhD

Travis Lewis, MD, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Travis is currently working at Prevail Therapeutics, where they hold the positions of Executive Medical Director, Senior Medical Director, and Medical Director. Prior to Prevail Therapeutics, Dr. Lewis worked at Axovant Gene Therapies, Ltd as the Director of Clinical Research and Associate Director of Clinical Research. Travis also has experience at Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System, where they served as a Movement Disorders Fellow, Neurology Resident, and Internal Medicine Intern. In addition, Dr. Lewis was a Graduate Fellow in the Medical Scientist Training Program (MD/PhD) at UAB Hospital. Travis began their career as a Technician and Summer Research Student at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Travis Lewis, MD, PhD obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis from 1998 to 2002. During this time, they focused on Biology and American culture studies. Travis later pursued their medical education at the University of Alabama School of Medicine from 2004 to 2013, earning their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. Additionally, Travis obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham between 2006 and 2011. Travis'sdoctoral research was centered in the fields of Medicine, Neuroscience, and Gene Therapy.
