Greta S. Harper, MD, is the system vice president of clinical excellence at Prisma Health, leading quality and safety initiatives across the system. She previously served as system physician executive for clinical standardization and as physician executive for Prisma Health Physician Practices. She earned her medical degree at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill and completed an internship in family practice and her residency training in pediatrics at Prisma Health, where she served as chief resident. Harper completed a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at the University of Florida, Jacksonville Medical Center. For many years, she served as the associate senior medical director at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital and co-medical director of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. She earned her MBA from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, in preparation for her current role. Harper is board certified and practices medicine as a pediatric intensivist at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital. She is the mother of two daughters, Alanna and Arielle, and married to James H. Harper.
