Punya Swaroop Sirigiri

Punya Swaroop Sirigiri is an experienced data scientist currently serving as a Senior Data Scientist at Progressive Insurance since February 2020. Previously, Punya held the position of Data Scientist at John Hancock from February 2018 to February 2020 and completed a quantitative trader internship at Nonpariel Capital in 2017, where LSTM was utilized for Bitcoin price prediction, outperforming other models in key performance metrics. Punya also participated as a finalist in the Brick and Code Hackathon at Walmart Labs, conducting Twitter sentiment analysis to assess customer satisfaction with the Walmart savings catcher app, leading to the development of a new mobile app. Punya's academic qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Data Science (Business Analytics) from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Calicut.
