Progressive Design, Inc. is currently seeking a Mechanical Designer to support Altria- US Smokeless Tobacco Co.  Altria is a large tobacco client of PDI.  This is a full time position that is located in Nashville, TN.  

Key Requirements & Responsibilities: •Current working knowledge of Inventor Pro 2018 and AutoCAD 2018 utilizing multiple Xrefs •Ability to read, understand, and review engineering drawings •Must be able to communicate and interact with mechanics, engineers and contractors to provide design solutions

Job Responsibilities: •Verification and modification to manufacturing facility drawings, equipment layouts and mechanical design work •Responsible for checking incoming vendor documentation and assisting personnel with requests for researching, plotting and creation of new drawings •Work on AutoCAD to: oReference files oAdapt to current CAD standards for creating or modifying drawings oLearn and follow current CAD procedures for routing drawings to outside resources •Work with project engineers to create or modify equipment arrangements as needed •Work with mechanics and maintenance personnel to provide existing or new machine/part drawings •Provide drawings for vendors to fabricate machines, structures or parts. Verification may be required •Maintain existing facility documentation of utilities and equipment

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: •5 years of mechanical design experience •Mechanical Engineering degree can replace relative experience •Current working knowledge of AutoCAD 2018 utilizing multiple Xrefs •Experience with Autodesk Inventor •Experience with Reverse Engineering •Strong Microsoft Office skills •Excellent organizational, design and drafting skills •Ability to travel and easily move about an industrial facility •Ability to read, understand, and review engineering drawings •Must be able to communicate and interact with mechanics, engineers and contractors to provide design solutions   Benefits: We offer a fast paced, exciting work environment with a competitive compensation package including: Medical Benefits, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, 401K match and tuition reimbursement.
