Biranchi Patra

Biranchi Patra, PhD, PPM(Biotech Management) has a diverse work experience in the biotech field. Starting in 2004, they were a Research Scientist and Project Manager at Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Sciences, where they also completed a Post-doctoral Professional Masters(PPM) in Biotech Management and a Post-doctoral Fellowship. From 2011 to 2015, they were a Process Analytical Development Contractor at Gilead Sciences, where they collaborated with internal scientists for PAT development and implementation, designed and developed analytical methods, and ensured all work performed was in compliance with cGMPs and applicable regulatory requirements. From 2013 to 2017, they were a Senior Scientist and Project Leader at Primordial Genetics Inc, where they managed projects from discovery and development to commercialization of gene fusion products, applied systems biology and synthetic biology tools, assessed novel technology for different traits, designed high-throughput screening methods, co-invented and filed a patent, and successfully commercialized gene fusion products. From 2017 to 2018, they were a Biotech Consultant at USDM Life Sciences. Most recently, they have been the Director of Research Development at Prolacta Bioscience since 2018.

Biranchi Patra, PhD, PPM(Biotech Management) has a long and impressive educational history. Biranchi started their educational career in 1992, when they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Genetics and Agriculture from Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi, India. Biranchi then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, India, which they completed in 1998. In 1999, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Genetics and Plant Molecular Biology from The University of Melbourne, Australia. Finally, in 2009, they completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Biotech Management (Business strategy and Regulatory Affairs) from Keck Graduate Institute. Biranchi also holds a Professional Project Management (PPM) certification in Biotech Management.
