Julie Button has a long and varied work experience. Julie began their career in 2004 as an Undergraduate Researcher at Princeton University in the Silhavy Lab. In 2005, they moved to Yale University School of Medicine as a Graduate Researcher, where they completed their dissertation on the regulation of chaperone/effector complex synthesis in a bacterial type III secretion system. In 2011, they became a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University. From 2014 to 2019, they worked at Seres Therapeutics as a Senior Scientist in Microbiology. In 2019, they moved to Solarea Bio as a Principal Scientist and Head of Discovery Lab. Most recently, in 2020, they began working at Prolacta Bioscience as Director of Non-clinical Research, Sr. Principal Scientist, and Microbiologist for Microbiome and Product Innovation.
Julie Button attended Princeton University from 2001 to 2005, where they earned an A.B. in Molecular Biology. Julie then went on to Yale University from 2005 to 2011, where they obtained a PhD in Microbiology.
