Cameron Lowell Palmer

Cameron Lowell Palmer has had a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Cameron Lowell started their career as an Information Security professional at Bank of America from 1997 to 2000. Cameron Lowell then worked as a Staff Network Engineer at Seagate Technology, LLC from 2000 to 2004. Following that, Cameron interned as a Software Developer at IBM in 2006. Cameron Lowell also conducted research as a Researcher at the University of North Texas from 2006 to 2009.

Moving towards software development, Cameron worked as a Software Developer at Infront AS from 2009 to 2013, where they developed the Infront Mobile app for iOS and Android. Cameron Lowell then joined Shortcut AS as a Mobile Software Developer, focusing on iOS and Android development, from 2013 to 2014. During this time, they also started exploring Mobile App Security and pen-testing.

Cameron's interest in the Medical Technology field led him to pursue a PhD in that area at NTNU from 2014 to 2023. Simultaneously, they worked as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Oslo from 2014 to 2023.

Additionally, Cameron took up a role as the Daglig Leder (Managing Director) at Gamle Oslo String Orchestra, a non-profit music program they founded in 2019. The program aims to provide musical education opportunities to the eastern neighborhood of Oslo, where such options are limited.

Currently, Cameron is employed as a Security Software and Research Engineer at Promon since 2017. In this role, they are involved in researching and developing security-related software primarily for iOS, but not exclusively. Cameron Lowell also oversees the build system, running build servers, and carrying out automated testing using various tools and technologies.

Cameron Lowell Palmer completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Science at the University of North Texas from 2004 to 2007. Cameron Lowell then pursued further studies and obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from the same institution from 2007 to 2009. Cameron later enrolled at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from 2014 to 2017 and successfully obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medical Technology.
