Samantha Swanson has had a varied work experience since 2009. Samantha began their career as an IT Support/Workshop Instructor at IT Services at Western Carolina University. In 2011, they became the Director of External Relations for the College Panhellenic Executive Board, where they created display advertising campaigns and other event materials, as well as organized and hosted fundraising events. In 2012, they took on the role of Digital Marketing Intern at Miles High Productions, where they developed content for various social media accounts and managed a thriving community of fans across a variety of social channels. In 2013, they were an External Relations Chair for Delta Zeta Sorority, where they developed messaging strategies across owned channels and grew followers/fans from 0 to 300-400 over 3 months. Samantha also took on the role of Digital Marketing Intern for the College of Arts and Sciences Campaign for Public Relations Campaigns Class, where they developed a SWOT analysis and marketing plan for the client, as well as developed content strategies and content for social channels. That same year, they began working at GEICO as a GEICO Sales Representative, where they were responsible for providing professional and knowledgeable experience to customers while writing homeowners policies. In 2014, they began working at Apple as a Technician and at OVM Financial, Inc. as a Business Systems Specialist. In 2018, they began working at Virginia Beach City Public Schools as a Technology Support Technician, where they were responsible for assisting staff and students with technology support. Finally, in 2019, they began working at Proton Dealership IT as a Telecommunications Project Manager, where they planned telecommunication installs for numerous clients, specifically focused in the Go To VOIP system, and lead a team of two through executing an entire telecommunication project from start to finish. Samantha also held the role of Associate Project Manager, where they created project timelines and determined expected dates of completion, as well as kept records of customer email and phone communications.

Samantha Swanson obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Communication with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing from Western Carolina University in 2013. In 2017, they obtained Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT) certification from Apple and in 2019, they obtained CompTIA A+ certification from CompTIA.
