Ryan Edgar, P.Eng. has over 13 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Ryan began their career in 2008 as an Engineering Student at Penn West Petroleum Ltd. In 2010, they were promoted to Production Engineer, and then to Field Engineer in Training. In 2013, they joined Baytex Energy Corp. as a Production Engineer in the Heavy Oil BU, where they were responsible for supporting daily operations and stewarding the annual capital budget. In 2021, they moved to Prospera Energy Inc. as an Area Engineer. Currently, they are employed at Proton Technologies Canada as a Production Engineer.

Ryan Edgar, P.Eng. obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary between 2006 and 2010. In 2013, they obtained the Well Service Blowout Prevention certification from Enform. In 2015, they became a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) through the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). In 2017, they obtained the Incident Investigation Root Cause Analysis certification from GCLSE - Global Centre for Leadership and Safety Excellence and became a Trained Club Coach - Endurance through Athletics Canada. In 2018, they obtained the Supervisor Leadership for H&S in the Workplace certification from Enform. In 2019, they obtained the Standard First Aid, CPR and AED certification from the Canadian Red Cross. In 2020, they obtained the H2S Alive certification from Energy Safety Canada.
