René Paas

René Paas is the Commissaris van de Koning at Provincie Groningen since April 2016 and has been responsible for publishing annual reports detailing activities within their role. Paas also holds various significant positions including Voorzitter of the Hoofdcommissie van Overleg for the Dienst van het Koninklijk Huis, Voorzitter of the board at PGGM, and Voorzitter of the Interkerkelijke Commissie voor het Justitiepastoraat. Additional roles include serving as Voorzitter of the Raad van Advies for the Sociale Verzekeringsbank and leading Divosa until April 2016. Renowned for extensive experience in both public administration and social sectors, Paas has held multiple advisory and leadership roles in various organizations and committees over several decades. Paas holds degrees in Nederlands recht and Bestuurswetenschappen from the University of Groningen, alongside further educational qualifications in public administration and organizational consulting.
