Pannie Trifillis PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific and medical affairs. Pannie started their career at PTC Therapeutics, Inc. where they held various positions of increasing responsibility. As a Vice President and Head of Global Scientific Affairs, they oversaw all products and drug candidates in the pipeline. Pannie also expanded the Global Scientific Affairs team and managed functions such as Medical Communications, Medical Info, Publications, and Medical Education and Training. Prior to this, they served as an Executive Director in Global Medical Affairs and played a key role in the successful launch of a product in the EU through training and KOL engagement. Pannie also led the Scientific Engagement team and facilitated the marketing authorization of a breakthrough medicine for a rare disease. Before joining PTC Therapeutics, Inc., Pannie worked as a Director of Alliance Management, where they managed strategic alliances with various organizations. Pannie has also worked in academic institutions such as the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey and Rutgers University, where they conducted research on post-transcriptional gene expression control and developed methodologies for identifying substrate mRNAs bound by RNA-binding proteins. Pannie started their scientific career as a Graduate Student at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Pannie Trifillis holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular Biology and Human Genetics from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Biology and Chemistry from Wellesley College.
