Dr. Jessie Shay

Communities That Care Community Champion at Public Health Institute at Denver Health

Dr. Jessie Shay, DSW, MSW, currently serves as the Executive Director of Chronically Informed, a platform that highlights short-form videos created by and for patients with chronic illnesses. As the owner and consultant of Creating Agency, Dr. Shay focuses on social justice advocacy to deliver innovative and individualized solutions. Dr. Shay co-facilitates the Communities That Care coalition at Denver Public Health, addressing substance abuse issues among LGBTQ+ youth and has also contributed to the implementation of preventive strategies for bullying and youth suicide in Denver. Previous experience includes roles at Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, Prax(us), and The Center on Colfax. Dr. Shay holds a Doctorate of Social Work from the University of Southern California, a Master of Social Work from the University of Denver, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Colorado State University.
