Sophie Hyman

Sophie Hyman has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Sophie currently holds the position of Head of Content Management at PubPlus since April 2021. Prior to this role, they worked as a Content Manager at the same company from September 2019 to April 2021.

In 2018, Sophie worked as an English Second Language Teacher at Masa Israel Journey from August 2018 to September 2019.

Before that, they held multiple roles at Western Albemarle High School. From August 2017 to June 2018, they were a part of the School Improvement Team, where they worked on enhancing educational practices. During the same period, they also participated in a Culturally Responsive Teaching Book Study and Professional Development Class, discussing "CRT and the Brain" by Zaretta Hammond and attending a related session led by the author. Sophie was also part of the Technology Committee at the school from August 2016 to June 2018.

Sophie's earliest work experience includes being a High School Mathematics Teacher, Assistant Swim Coach, and Class Sponsor at Western Albemarle High School from August 2013 to June 2018.

Sophie also served as a member of the Freshman Seminar Committee at Albemarle County Public Schools from August 2017 to June 2018.

Furthermore, Sophie worked as a Mathematics Tutor from August 2010 to June 2018.

Sophie was an Assistant Swim Coach at Boar's Head Resort from May 2013 to August 2017.

Lastly, Sophie worked briefly as a Math Teacher at Sutherland Middle School from January 2013 to June 2013.

Sophie Hyman completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from the University of Virginia in 2013. In the same year, they also obtained a Master of Teaching degree with a focus on Secondary Education and Teaching from the UVA School of Education and Human Development. Sophie Hyman then obtained certification as a Mathematics Teacher from the Virginia Department of Education in June 2013.
