Brian Edelman is the current President of the Purdue Research Foundation at Purdue University. Prior to this, they spent 30 years in leadership positions at Eli Lilly and Company, where they gained a wealth of experience in finance, treasury, corporate strategy, business development, and investment banking.
Under Edelman's guidance, Eli Lilly shifted its focus from licensing to acquisitions, and they were instrumental in closing over $20 billion worth of transactions. Brian has experience with a variety of transaction types, including unsolicited offers, buy-side auctions, divestitures, in-licensing, joint ventures, minority investments, and cross-border transactions.
Edelman's extensive transaction experience covers a wide range of industries, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, healthcare services, discovery tools, diagnostics, and animal health. Brian is known for their ability to build consensus within deal teams and across large organizations, as well as advising C-suite executives and boards of directors on key transaction benefits and risks.
Brian Edelman's educational career began with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Wabash College. Brian then went on to earn a Master of Science in Management / Finance from Purdue University Krannert School of Management.
