Sean Whipkey

Sean Whipkey has extensive experience in various technical roles. Sean started their career at Cornerstone Networks, Inc. as an Internet Engineer in 1998. Sean then worked as a Systems and Operations Administrator at mrgoodbucks.com from 2000 to 2001. Sean joined the University of Virginia as a Systems Engineer in 2001 and stayed there until 2004.

In 2004, Sean began working at Intelligent Decisions, Inc. as an IT Architect. In this role, they were a Sales Engineer, covering various areas such as servers, storage, virtualization, cybersecurity, and mobile device management. Sean also worked on designing and prototyping new solutions and responding to RFPs. Sean stayed at Intelligent Decisions, Inc. for more than 10 years.

From 2004 to 2013, Sean also worked as a Writer for GamersInfo.net, where they showcased their passion for writing. During this time, they founded Scofflaw's Den, a platform focused on cocktails and spirits, where they worked as a Writer and Founder from 2007 to 2015. Sean also served as a Board of Directors member for the Cocktail and Spirits Online Writers Group from 2009 to 2012.

In 2015, Sean joined Tribalco as a Technical SME and stayed there until 2017. Sean then moved to Spear, Inc., where they held the position of Senior Engineer, Data Analytics from 2017 to 2019. During their time at Spear, Inc., they worked as a consultant, assisting customers with technical needs, and also as a sales engineer, handling opportunities, RFI/RFP responses, presentations, and demos.

Most recently, Sean has been working at Qmulos, starting as a Sales Engineer in 2019 and currently holding the role of Senior Sales Engineer.

Sean Whipkey graduated from the University of Virginia in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in Government. Prior to attending university, they received their high school education at Northside High School. In terms of additional certifications, Sean obtained the following: Splunk Core Certified Consultant from Splunk in September 2020, SCC II and Sales Engineer III from Splunk in September 2017, Brocade Professional IP Administrator from Brocade in September 2016, ACMP from Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, in October 2015. Sean also holds various certifications in the IT field from institutions such as Sourcefire (part of Cisco), IBM, Dell, ITIL Certified, Infoblox, EMC, Oracle, CompTIA, and Citrix, although the specific months and years of obtaining these certifications are not provided.
