Placido Valdes

President Of Caribbean & Latin American Operations at Quanta Services

Placido Valdes has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Placido began their career as the President of Accurate Components Engineering Corp in 1984. Placido then served as the CEO and Director General of Butler Telecommunications LLC from 1990 to 1995. Following this, they worked as the CEO and Director General of Acietel Mexicana SA from 1995 to 1997.

Valdes went on to become the Vice President of International Operations at Mastec from 1997 to 1999, where they focused on developing the company's operations in Latin America and the Caribbean. Placido then joined Lucent Technologies as the Senior Director of Business Development for CALA.

Valdes's next significant role was as the Vice President and General Manager of the Americas at Protek div. of Warburg Pincus, later renamed FTS Software, from 2000 to 2002. During this time, they established regional offices in Mexico and Brazil and was responsible for the operations in the Caribbean and Latin America.

In 2002, Valdes became the President and CEO of Escala Solutions, Inc., a position they held for nine years. During this time, they oversaw the company's growth and operations.

Placido then took on the role of CEO and Director General of the Americas at Grupo Avanzit, now Grupo Ezentis SA, from 2009 to 2011. Placido greatly expanded the company's business in the Caribbean, Central America, and North Andes region, leading to a 300% growth in the second year.

Following this, Valdes became the President of Caribbean & Latin American Operations at Quanta Services, Inc. in 2011, where they currently serve.

Placido Valdes has a Master's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance, General from Harvard Business School. Placido also holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Miami.
