Daniel Thuerck

Head of Development: Quantum Systems at Quantagonia

Daniel Thuerck has a diverse work experience in research and development roles. Daniel currently serves as the Head of Development for Quantum Systems at Quantagonia. Prior to this, they worked as a Research Scientist at NEC Laboratories Europe GmbH from February 2020 to March 2022.

Daniel also worked as a Research Associate at Technische Universität Darmstadt from August 2015 to January 2020. During this time, they focused on High-Performance Computing (HPC), GPGPU, and linear algebra topics, primarily on GPUs. Daniel was a member of the research groups "Graphics, Capture, and Massively-Parallel Computing" and "Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning."

Additionally, Daniel gained valuable research experience as a Research Intern at Facebook from October 2018 to March 2019 and as a Research Intern at NVIDIA from March 2016 to July 2016 and September 2015 to March 2016.

Before their research roles, Daniel worked as a Student Research Assistant at TU Darmstadt from May 2013 to July 2015. Overall, Daniel Thuerck has a strong background in research and development, with a particular focus on quantum systems, HPC, GPGPU, and linear algebra.

Daniel Thuerck has an extensive education history in the field of computer science and engineering. Daniel started their academic journey by obtaining a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science from Technische Universität Darmstadt, which they completed between 2010 and 2013. Daniel then pursued further studies and earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computational Engineering from the same institution, completing it from 2013 to 2015. Building upon their knowledge and expertise, Daniel proceeded to pursue a higher level of education, culminating in the completion of a Doctor of Engineering (Dr.-Ing.) degree in Massively-parallel linear optimization, discrete optimization, and linear algebra at Technische Universität Darmstadt from 2015 to 2021.

In addition to their academic achievements, Daniel Thuerck has also obtained a certification called the "IBM Quantum Challenge: Spring 2023 Achievement" from IBM, which was obtained in May 2023.
