Milan Kornjaca

Milan Kornjaca is a Senior Quantum Scientist at QuEra Computing Inc. since June 2023, previously holding positions as a Research Scientist in Algorithms & Applications and an intern on the Algorithms team within the same company. Kornjaca's academic background includes a PhD in Condensed Matter and Materials Physics from Iowa State University, complemented by a Master's and Bachelor's degree from the University of Belgrade. As a Graduate Research Assistant at Iowa State University from August 2017 to May 2023, Kornjaca contributed to significant research on mobile Majorana fermions for quantum computation, leading to the discovery of a novel platform for topological quantum computation. Experience as a Teaching Assistant involved effectively communicating physics topics to diverse engineering audiences. Additionally, a research internship at the Institute of Physics Belgrade focused on charge carrier mobility in semiconductors, where Kornjaca developed custom software to tackle complex technical challenges.
