Patrick Mackinlay has been working in the software engineering field since 2006. Patrick started their career as a Senior Developer at Catlin, followed by a Senior Developer role at Deutsche Bank. In 2009, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at SpaceSurfer Ltd and as a Senior Software Engineer (contractor) at the BBC. In 2010, they worked as a Senior Software Developer at UBS Investment Bank and as a Senior Developer at Vibrant Media. In 2012, they worked as a Senior Software Developer at Morgan Stanley. In 2013, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Bank of America. From 2014 to 2020, they worked as a Senior Low Latency Risk and Pricing FX Algo Developer at HSBC Global Banking and Markets. Currently, they are a Software Engineer at QuestDB, where they add new features in Java and C.
Patrick Mackinlay attended Imperial College London from 1990 to 1994, where they obtained a MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Prior to that, they attended Scuola Europea Varese - European School Varese from 1980 to 1990, where they obtained a European Baccalaureate in Physics, Maths, and Advanced Maths.
