Jelle Zijlstra

Jelle Zijlstra's work experience includes working as a Staff Engineer at Quora from January 2016 onwards. At Quora, they have worked on various projects including infrastructure, security, internationalization, development tools, the subscriptions product, and ML infrastructure. Jelle has written the current continuous deployment system, led the migration from Python 2 to Python 3, and developed a type checker for Python optimized for the internal frameworks. Jelle also led an effort that reduced the on-call burden for engineers. Prior to Quora, Jelle worked as a Software Engineer from July 2013 to January 2016 at the same company. Before that, they worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Piazza Technologies Inc. in June 2012. In 2008, Jelle held the position of Secretary General at LEMUN.

Jelle Zijlstra attended Stedelijk Gymnasium Leiden from 2003 to 2009. After completing high school, they then pursued their higher education at Harvard University from 2009 to 2013. At Harvard, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology.
