Jacob Cooper

Lead Aerodynamicist at Radian Aerospace

Jacob Cooper has had a varied and impressive work experience. Jacob began their career in 2004 as an Undergraduate Fellow for the NSF PEER Project. In 2005, they were a Teaching Assistant for AERO 423 at Texas A&M University. Jacob then worked as a Design Engineer Co-op for L-3 Communications Integrated Systems in 2006. In 2007, they were a Systems Engineer for Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company. From 2008-2009, they worked as a Teacher/Coach for Fort Bend ISD - Clements High School. Jacob then returned to Texas A&M University, where they were a Graduate Assistant for Aerospace Engineering from 2009-2014. In 2014, they began working as an Aerodynamics Engineer for Aerion Supersonic. In 2021, they joined Joby Aviation as an Aerodynamics Staff Engineer and Aerodynamics Engineer. Jacob is currently employed as a Lead Aerodynamicist for Radian Aerospace.

Jacob Cooper earned their Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2006. Jacob then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering at the same university, which they completed in 2011. Finally, they earned their PhD in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2014. In addition to their academic qualifications, Cooper also holds a Design of Experiments certification from Stat-Ease, Inc. obtained in October 2014 and a Private Pilot License from the Federal Aviation Administration obtained in August 2014.
