Thomas Gonzalez, PhD, has a diverse work experience. Thomas is currently a Senior Scientist at Rancho BioSciences, starting in March 2023. Prior to this role, they worked as a Scientist at the same company from September 2020 to March 2023. Before joining Rancho BioSciences, they were a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Baylor College of Medicine, from January 2019 to August 2020. In this role, they independently conducted research experiments, collaborated with multiple teams, and performed critical data analysis for scientific manuscripts. From September 2014 to December 2018, Thomas was a PHD Candidate in toxicology at the University of Michigan. During this time, they designed and coordinated research experiments, focused on breast cancer recurrence and drug compounds for targeted therapy. Thomas also gained experience in computational toxicology. Thomas has additional research experience as a Research Assistant at UC Santa Barbara from April 2013 to June 2014, and as a Visiting Scientist at Eindhoven University of Technology from June 2013 to August 2013, where they worked on synthetic organic synthesis and characterization of supramolecular architectures.

Thomas began their higher education journey at UC Santa Barbara from 2010 to 2014, where they completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry & Biochemistry. Building on this foundation, they then attended the University of Michigan for their doctoral studies from 2014 to 2018. During this period, they specialized in Toxicology and successfully earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree.
