María José Álvarez Peña has extensive work experience in various HR roles. Currently, they are the HR Operations Director at Randstad RiseSmart, where they are responsible for developing and implementing strategies for successful Career Transition projects. María José ensures the productivity and satisfaction of employees while achieving budget and sales targets. Prior to that, María worked at Randstad España as an HR Change Manager and later as a Consulting Area Manager in Catalonia. María José supported the consultancy area, conducted Employer Branding projects, and coordinated Development Centers. Before joining Randstad, María held positions at BPI Group as an HR Operations Manager and Outplacement Project Manager. Additionally, they worked at Orange Telecom as a Training and Quality Manager and at Sinergia & Improvement as a European Projects Coordinator.
María José Álvarez Peña has a strong educational background in HR organization and direction, as well as psychology. María José obtained a postgraduate degree in HR Organization and Direction from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in 1991-1993. María José also earned a PhD in Psychology from Universidad de Oviedo in 1995-1997. In addition, María obtained a higher degree in Labour Risk Prevention with a focus on Ergonomics and Psychosociology from Universidad de Oviedo in 2005. Prior to their postgraduate studies, they completed a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in 1988-1992. María José Álvarez Peña has also acquired various certifications throughout their career, including certification as a learning advisor from Randstad RiseSmart, a LEAN white belt from Randstad Sourceright, and completion of the VSO Mentorship Programme from Randstad. María José also obtained certifications in career mobility team building from RiseSmart and advancing negotiation skills from Scotwork.
