We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Test Engineer to join us as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering component and module products.

Summary of Job Function

The Manufacturing Test Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing test solutions for new products.  Duties include assessing new proposed projects for areas of concern regarding test, suggesting features and strategies that could improve the quality or cost of testing new products, and working with a cross-functional team to collect the necessary data to establish the long-term manufacturability of the product.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new product test strategies and test plans for manufacturing test
  • Design, implement & automate test solutions for packaged devices and/or at wafer level
  • Work with a cross-functional program team to assess and evaluate new designs and deliver on manufacturing test solutions
  • As part if the NPI project team participate in product design meetings to understand the intricacies of the product from inception, to ensure design for testability & design of an efficient manufacturing test platform
  • Collaborate with R&D to ensure the robustness of IC & system designs, and test solutions over specified conditions and process variation
  • Work with selected CM on optimization of manufacturing test with the target to transfer test ownership to the CM
  • Provide documentation & training to contract manufacturing production personnel, as required
  • Support product qualification by developing reliability screening test solutions, leveraging developed manufacturing test
  • Define manufacturing test configurations & requirements; working with vendors, as well as h/w & f/w design teams, to develop optimized manufacturing test systems.
  • During product life cycle, provide support to optimize test solutions to consistently improve yield and/or test cycle time, and drive continuous margin improvement
  • Ensure test data is collected and maintained systematically for further analysis in a well-defined database platform
  • Hold periodic test review meetings with project teams and create required documents and test reports

Desired Qualifications:

  • Highly experienced in test automation & proficiency with C/C++, C# and script languages
  • Experience in testing high-speed, mixed signal ICs & opto-electronic devices
  • Understanding of high-speed PCB/PCBA design concepts and experience in schematic capture
  • Experience with electrical and optical test equipment, such as DCA, DMM, OSA, OPM & VOA
  • Experience with testing in embedded operating system environment
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team and build relationships with peers in various disciplines
  • Capability to root cause failure modes and implement corrective actions
  • Capable of working to aggressive project timelines

Education And Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • 5+ years direct experience working with CMs on product manufacturing test
