We are looking for an experienced and flexible Senior Reliability Engineer.  The Senior Reliability Engineer in Ranovus fulfils a critical role, providing critical reliability engineering and program management, working with multiple departments.  Support ranges from defining and management product qualification programs to operations quality engineering tasks related to supplier and component qualification.  Candidate will also be prime contact for management of environmental compliance programs such as ROHS2 and conflict minerals for Ranovus product, as well as regulatory compliance programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Product Qualification Program Prime:
    1. Qualification plan creation: Establish plans based on a thorough knowledge of reliability risks associated with photonic and electronic component technologies and related qualification standards. Familiarity with international standards such as Telcordia GR-468, relevant Military JEDEC and IPC standards is also desired.
    2. Qualification plan execution:  Resourcing and scheduling, project management, reporting and documentation.  Corrective action / preventive action techniques and failure analysis methodologies.
    3. Customer Qualification Report Generation: Customer interface for preparing documentation and presenting qualification results.
    4. Contract Manufacturer Reliability Surveillance: Reviewing CM reliability plans, reviewing CM results, ensuring conformance etc.
  • Support for Product Development: Product reliability modelling and simulation.
    1. Photonics and electronic component reliability prediction and modelling.
  • Support for Product Environmental Compliance :
    1. ROHS Compliance : Leverage external consultants to ensure compliance.
    2. Conflict Minerals Reporting Compliance: Same.
  • Support for Product Regulatory Compliance:
    1. Regulatory Compliance: Manage the product compliance to external regulatory standards for safety, EMI/EMC, and other applicable requirements.

Skills and experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree plus 10+ years of related work experience with a strong understanding of high technology product development and manufacturing methods.  Preference will be given to candidates with a working knowledge of photonics technology.

  2. Possesses excellent interpersonal skills, coupled with well developed communications skills, when dealing with internal process owners and a well-developed understanding of business concepts, procedures, and practices.

  3. Will have knowledge of reliability, maintainability, and risk management, as defined by the body of knowledge for reliability engineers from the American Society for Quality.

  4. Will have a thorough understanding of problem solving and quality improvement tools and techniques. This includes knowledge of management and planning tools, quality tools, preventive and corrective actions, and how to overcome barriers to quality improvements.

  5. Will be able to acquire and analyze data using appropriate standard quantitative methods across a spectrum of business environments to facilitate process analysis and improvements.

Preference is given to holders of the following ASQ accreditations:

  • Certified Quality Engineer
  • Certified Reliability Engineer
  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Other ASQ Certifications will be considered as well.
