Kashyap Nishtala

Kashyap Nishtala has worked in the field of robotics since 2015. From 2015 to 2016, they were a Design Engineer at BrahMos Aerospace. In 2015, they also worked as a Mechanical Design Intern at Hyundai Motor India Ltd., where they performed theoretical study on relationship between IC engine design and power output, modified a stock cylinder head by porting and polishing using grinding tools, and conducted flow analysis using CFD. From 2018 to 2021, they were a Product Manager at NoRILLA, where they prioritized hardware components and software gaming features to ship cost-effective educational products, led an interdisciplinary team to ideate and fabricate interactive gaming modules to interface with computer vision for enabling multi-reality experience, and launched initial modules into school districts and ramped up production to increase user base and retention. In 2018, they were also a Researcher (Robotics) at Carnegie Mellon University, where they collaborated with robotics researchers to fabricate a soft assistive robot arm that performs simple tasks for the elderly, created 3D CAD models of robot arm parts and used computer vision to enable object recognition in Python, and conducted user research to prioritize needs and develop arm movements such as lifting an object. From 2020 to 2021, they were a Product Manager at EverestLabs.AI. Currently, they are a Product Manager, Technology at Rapid Robotics, Inc.

Kashyap Nishtala obtained a Master's degree in Integrated Product Development from Carnegie Mellon University in 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Andhra University.
