Laurence Cheng

Vice President, Clinical Development at RAPT Therapeutics

Laurence Cheng has extensive work experience in the field of clinical development and medicine. Laurence began their career at Amgen in 2015 as a Medical Director, where they worked until 2019. During their time at Amgen, they gained valuable experience in medical supervision and decision-making. In 2019, Laurence joined RAPT Therapeutics, initially serving as a Senior Medical Director and later assuming the role of Vice President, Clinical Development in July 2020. Laurence'sresponsibilities at RAPT Therapeutics include overseeing clinical development initiatives. Before their tenure at Amgen, Laurence worked at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) as an Assistant Professor from 2011 to 2015, and as a Volunteer Clinical Faculty since 2015.

Laurence Cheng's education history begins with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, which they obtained from 1992 to 1996. Afterwards, they pursued higher education at the University of Washington from 1996 to 2004, where they earned both an MD and a PhD. During their time at the University of Washington, they focused on Medicine for their MD and Immunology for their PhD. In 2009, Laurence Cheng obtained certification as an American Board of Allergy and Immunology Diplomate from the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.
