Matthew Verosloff

Scientist II at ReCode Therapeutics

Matthew Verosloff has a diverse work experience spanning from 2009 to 2023. Matthew is currently working as a Scientist II at ReCode Therapeutics since March 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Mammoth Biosciences from December 2020 to March 2023, where they held the positions of Scientist II and Scientist I. At Mammoth Biosciences, their responsibilities included developing novel assays for human viral pathogens, characterizing Cas enzymes using liquid handling robots, and leading small teams to implement novel methodology for controlling nucleic acid and protein interactions.

Before joining Mammoth Biosciences, Matthew was a PHD Candidate at Northwestern University from September 2015 to December 2020. During their time at Northwestern University, they conducted research as a Synthetic Biologist, focusing on understanding natural RNA mechanisms and developing synthetic variants for applications such as point of use diagnostics. Matthew developed novel in-vivo assays for studying transcription termination and designed riboregulators and CRISPR systems for point of use diagnostics targeting human and plant pathogens. Matthew was also involved in a multidisciplinary and multinational research team studying water quality diagnostics in resource-limited settings.

Matthew's earlier work experience includes being a Technician II at Cornell University from January 2014 to August 2015, a Research Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania from November 2012 to December 2013, an Analyst at Accutest Laboratories from January 2012 to August 2012, and a Research Assistant at Rutgers University from March 2011 to July 2011. Their roles in these positions involved molecular biology, plant transformation techniques, enzyme assays, and carbon dioxide respiration measurement techniques. Matthew also worked as a Foreman/Painter at Collegiate Entrepreneurs from May 2009 to August 2009.

Matthew Verosloff began their education in 2007 at Rutgers University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Art degree in Biology in 2012. In 2010, they also attended Leiden University, although the details of their degree and field of study for that period are not provided. Matthew continued their education at the University of Pennsylvania from 2012 to 2013, earning a Master of Biotechnology degree in Molecular Biology. Lastly, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Synthetic Biology from Northwestern University, which they completed in 2020.
