Peng Wang

Scientist II at ReCode Therapeutics

Peng Wang began their career in 2014 as a Research Assistant at Northeastern University (CN), where they investigated the effect of media structure on filter media testing. In 2016, they joined Virginia Commonwealth University as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, where they investigated the deposition of particles ranging from hundreds of nanometers to tens micrometers in a well-controlled human's lung model under simulated human's breathing. Peng also evaluated the change of both pressure drop and filtration efficiency of respiratory filter media under long time simulated human's breathing, and designed a multiple jets electrospray system to generate neutralized submicron particles with a high mass output. In addition, they delivered 8 technical presentations for 50+ audiences from 19 company members of the Center for Filtration Research (CFR), gave 5 oral presentations in international conferences, investigated the performance of respirator filter media under realistic inhalation-exhalation flow conditions, proposed an empirical media efficiency model under flow oscillation, and tested the performance of multi-layered easy obtained nonwoven fibrous filter. Peng also served as a Laboratory Manager and Teaching Assistant, where they assisted in teaching 4 undergraduate level courses with 100+ students, graded homework, project designs, quizzes, and exams, and led the office hour discussion. In 2023, they joined ReCode Therapeutics as a Scientist II.

Peng Wang attended Northeastern University (CN) from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Safety Engineering. Peng then attended Northeastern University (CN) again from 2014 to 2017, earning a Master of Science in Safety Engineering. Finally, Peng Wang attended Virginia Commonwealth University from 2016 to 2021, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering.
