Michael Oberlander, MD has a long history of work experience in the medical field. Michael began their career in 1991 as an Editorial Board Member and Editorial Reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine. In 1992, they became the Head Team Physician for Diablo Valley College. In 1996, they became the Orthopaedic Surgeon, Sports Medicine Specialist, Co-Founder and President for East Bay Sports Medicine, as well as the Head Team Physician for San Jose Earthquakes Soccer. In 2005, they became the Orthopaedic Consultant for the Houston Dynamo, and in 2006, they became the Head Team Physician for the San Franciso Dragons (MLL - Major League Lacrosse). In 2008, they became the Assistant Team Physician for the Oakland Raiders. In 2013, they founded and became President and Chief Medical Officer for Trainer Rx now RecoveryOne, as well as a Founder and Executive Board Member for RecoveryOne. Currently, they are the Chief Medical Officer for FIGUR8, Inc., an MIT spin-off company creating the most advanced wearable musculoskeletal (MSK) technology on the market.

Michael Oberlander, MD obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology, General from Tulane University between 1977 and 1981. Michael then attended Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and earned their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) between 1981 and 1985. Following this, they completed their Board Certified Orthopaedics at Boston University School of Medicine between 1986 and 1990. Lastly, they completed their Fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at Hughston Clinic Sports Medicine from 1990 to 1991. Additionally, they hold Board Certification from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Certification of Added Qualifications for Sports Medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
