Recurly is dedicated to helping subscription businesses succeed by providing an extremely flexible and developer friendly SaaS Billing and Revenue Recognition application. To support our exciting growth the Recurly Onboarding team is looking to hire a Revenue Recognition Software Analyst. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves the challenges and opportunities brought about by applying Software solutions to Revenue Recognition processes. This is a customer facing role, which will give you the opportunity to work with companies in many industries and help solve many use cases with the Recurly Revenue Recognition solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Recurly follows a 5 phases process to implement our Revenue Recognition software for our customers. As the lead analyst on these projects you will be the driving force to execute that process. You will be working closely with the customer, the Recurly Enablement Manager as well as internal teams.:

  • Phase 1 - BRD/CRP Creation and review: you will own the creation and review of both the Business Requirements Document (BRD) and the Configuration Requirement Plan (CRP). You will consult with all stakeholders to create these documents.

  • Phase 2 - Core design & configuration: you will create the design for the solution and configure the Recurly Revenue Recognition software.

  • Phase 3 - Integration: you will ensure a seamless integration of all systems with a focus on data accuracy. You will be reviewing and signing off on the test scenarios while the customer validates the configurations and prepares the necessary test data. You will complete systems and integration unit testing. You will review the customer’s test cases.

  • Phase 4 - UAT: the customer will provision data, perform data conversion, and execute UAT scenarios. You will review UAT results and address any issues.

  • Phase 5 - Go live: you will support the customer during the Go live phase and then transition them to our Support team. You will finalize all documents and archive them. You will participate in lessons learned workshops to help improve processes, tools, software, etc.

  • In addition to the above, this role may include the following:

  • Evaluate merchant business models, contracts, and financial data to design solutions and provide best practices.

  • Define and create solutions to help customers realize the full potential of Recurly’s Recurly Revenue Recognition software.

  • Gather requirements, design solutions, configure software, load data, test configurations, support UAT, troubleshoot, launch support, document.

  • Account for possible project challenges on constraints including, risks, time, and scope.

  • Use Recurly Onboarding tools for project management, documentation, time tracking, support, engineering.

  • Build alliances with Product, Engineering, Customer Success and Support teams to solve problems and achieve objectives by sharing knowledge and information.

  • Stay up to date with accounting standards and regulations that could impact revenue recognition solutions.

  • Stay up to date with Recurly software features, as well as competitors’.

Requirements

  • Accounting Expert with understanding of ASC 606/IFRS 15.
  • CA intern/pass accounting candidates are preferred.
  • Experience working with Revenue Recognition Software solutions, preferably web based: design, configuration, data loading, data review, testing, UAT, report analysis, troubleshooting.
  • A passion for solving complex financial business problems faced by merchants, by providing communication and guidance around the solutions.
  • Details oriented and able to configure complex systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical issues and resolutions via emails, slacks, and meetings.
  • Ability to think holistically and consider the long-term impact of choices made in revenue recognition implementation.
  • Must have good organization and prioritization skills (ability to work in a project based environment).
  • Has strong critical thinking skills, curiosity, and a passion for learning new systems.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role. Most Recurly customers are in the US and EMEA, with meetings in those time zones.

  • Some familiarity using APIs.
  • Experience with tax matters.
  • Experience with B2C subscription businesses.
  • Experience with subscription billing platforms.
  • Experience with Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Xero, or other accounting systems.
  • Experience with ETL.
