Andrew Payne

Andrew Payne is an experienced pharmaceutical leader currently serving as the VP of Internal Portfolio at Recursion since November 2024. Prior to this role, Andrew held several key positions at Exscientia, including VP Project Biology and Head of Discovery Biology, demonstrating expertise in project leadership for biological drug discovery. At UCB, Andrew led a team of pharmacologists as Senior Group Leader in the Primary Pharmacology Group, focusing on developing complex cellular assays and translational biology. Previous roles include Group Leader at Oxford Glycosciences and Senior Scientist/Group Leader at Prolifix Ltd, where Andrew specialized in antifungal drug discovery and assay development. Andrew earned a PhD in Antifungal Discovery from the University of Bristol.
