Chad Atwell

Chad Atwell has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of compensation and performance management. Chad started their career as a Compensation Specialist at ChannelPoint, Inc., where they designed and implemented compensation and performance systems. Chad then joined Chipotle Mexican Grill as the Manager of Compensation and Performance Systems, where they enhanced compensation and performance management systems for both home-office and restaurant staff.

After gaining experience in the restaurant industry, Chad moved on to Qwest Communications as an HR Business Partner, where they consulted with business unit leadership on designing and delivering performance management and compensation solutions. Chad also led compensation benchmarking for the entire organization and provided training to management on compensation policies and programs.

Chad's career then took him to Aon Hewitt, where they served as the Global Talent Solutions Leader. In this role, they led the development of compensation technology and services as part of a multi-process HR outsourcing offering. Chad presented to customers and prospects on the value of the services and assisted in large-scale HR transformations.

Following their role at Aon Hewitt, Chad joined Oracle as the Director of Product Strategy - Human Capital Management. Chad led the strategy and roadmap of a cloud-based compensation management solution and partnered with customers to optimize its use in their organizations. Chad also wrote publications and recorded videos to promote new features and functionality.

After their time at Oracle, Chad worked at Deloitte as a Senior Manager in the Rewards and Human Capital practice. Their responsibilities included managing a multi-million dollar book of business focused on the tech industry, where they led clients through the design and delivery of compensation and rewards strategies.

Chad then joined Lattice as a Principal Compensation Advisor, where they established rewards-related offerings for Lattice customers. Unfortunately, they were affected by downsizing in January 2023.

In addition to their corporate roles, Chad has contributed as Faculty at WorldatWork, facilitating learning discussions and teaching courses on various aspects of compensation.

Most recently, Chad founded People-Centered Pay, LLC, where they serve as the Founder and Principal Advisor. Chad helps companies build talent programs that optimize workforce experiences and deliver sustainable results, with a focus on technology, operating models, and change management.

Currently, Chad is working as the Director of Client Solutions at RedCAT Systems, leading client engagements and partnering with engineering and solutions teams to implement and upgrade compensation and performance solutions.

Chad Atwell obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources and Personnel Management from the University of Colorado Boulder, where they studied from 1991 to 1995. Chad later pursued a Master's degree in Management at the University of Colorado Denver, from 1999 to 2002.

In addition to their degrees, Chad Atwell has obtained several certifications. Chad became a Certified Compensation Professional from WorldatWork in September 2001, and later received the Global Remuneration Professional certification from the same institution in September 2008. In May 2011, they became a Certified Barbeque Judge accredited by the Kansas City Barbeque Society. Lastly, in October 2014, Chad Atwell received the Human Capital Strategist certification from the Human Capital Institute (HCI).
