Tony Laing

Tony Laing has extensive work experience in the field of data and analytics.

Tony currently holds the position of Chief Data & Analytics Officer at RedEye since November 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Interim Chief Technology Officer at RedEye from September 2022 to December 2022.

Before joining RedEye, Tony worked at Auto & General as the General Manager Analytics & Data Services from January 2018 to January 2022. Tony also gained experience as the Group Data Scientist in Residence at Budget Direct Insurance (Auto & General) from April 2017 to January 2018.

In addition, Tony has served as the Principal Consultant at DataSci Consulting from January 2016 to January 2018. Tony was the General Manager - Data Science at Comparethemarket.com.au from May 2015 to April 2017 and the Head of Analytics at Trade Me from January 2014 to February 2015.

Tony began their career in 1996, initially working in marketing management and business consultancy roles for various companies. Tony later held positions as Insights & Market Research Manager and CRM Manager at DuluxGroup from April 2008 to November 2010 and from October 2002 to April 2008, respectively.

In 2010, Tony joined iSelect, where they served as the Head of Analytics & Data Services from July 2011 to January 2014 and as the Customer Analytics Manager from November 2010 to July 2011.

Tony's diverse work experience showcases their expertise in data and analytics across various industries and positions of increasing responsibility and leadership.

Tony Laing received their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree from The University of Queensland in 1992, although it is stated that it remains incomplete. Tony then pursued a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree at Bond University from 1993 to 1995. Finally, from 2005 to 2009, Tony attended RMIT University, where they earned their Master of Statistics (Business) degree with a focus on Statistics and Business.
