Software Engineer, Platform at Redpanda Data

Ivo Jimenez has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2010 when they were a MS Graduate Student Researcher at UC Santa Cruz, where they developed an engine-agnostic framework to interact with the internal components of a DBMS. In 2012, they were an Engineering Intern at Aster Data. In 2013, they were a Software Engineer Intern at Intel Corporation, where they explored distinct designs that would run on top of HDF5 or FF's I/O Dispatching layer (IOD), developed an MPI-based analysis shipping prototype, and helped develop part of the actual analytics component delivered as part of Q6 milestone of the prototype. Ivo was also a PhD Graduate Student Researcher at UC Santa Cruz, where they evaluated experimental results in the field of computer systems and developed methodologies to validate scientific claims in systems research. In 2014, they were a Summer Research Intern at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where they worked on a project titled "Redo: Scalable Reproducibility". In 2015, they were a Summer Intern at RedHat, Inc. and a DevOps Engineer at TidalScale, where they implemented the software delivery pipelines for the TidalScale hyperkernel. In 2018, they were a Summer Research Intern at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Currently, they are a Research Scientist at University of California, Santa Cruz and a DevOps Engineer at Redpanda Data.

Ivo Jimenez obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science from Universidad de Sonora in 2006. Ivo then attended the University of California, Santa Cruz, where they earned a Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science in 2013, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science in 2019.
